About the Artwork
Medium: Paint on Canvas
Size: 36"W x 36"H x 1.5"D
Artistic Statement: Lighthouses stand as symbols of guidance, resilience, and solitude. In this contemporary painting, I explore the interplay between light and isolation, using bold contrasts, expressive brushwork, and an abstracted coastal landscape to evoke both a sense of longing and reassurance. The lighthouse, bathed in shifting hues, represents a silent guardian—steadfast amid turbulent waters, yet removed from the world it protects.Through layered textures and fluid motion, I aim to capture the emotional weight of this structure: a beacon of hope for some, a symbol of solitude for others. The piece invites viewers to reflect on their own interpretations of direction, distance, and the unseen forces that guide us home.
