Artist Bio: Annette is a GTA-based artist who works both digitally and traditionally, with a focus on character design, storyboarding and illustrations. Her works are inspired by deep emotions and innovative aspirations. Growing up, Annette has always been full of emotions, both good and bad, and has used art as a way to express those feelings. Annette's art is innovative, in perspective, colours and storytelling.

Artistic Statement: GRWM is a series of paintings that explores the idea of "beauty is pain" but amplified to exhibit a grotesque side to it, There is a repetitive aspect to all these actions that women continue to do to present themselves in a certain manner to society. This series prods at the continuous beauty standards that women must upkeep, and it is crucial to take a step back and look at the damage done to female bodies.
